Seasonality

The Jordan Valley Medjool calendar

A plain-language view of harvest, sorting, packing and programme conversations.

The Jordan Valley season is a sequence of ripening, selective picking, sorting, packing and storage. A calendar helps you plan an enquiry, but a date on the calendar cannot confirm that a particular grade, fruit size or Rutab pack is ready for dispatch.

01

Before harvest: agree the brief

Use the planning period to settle the sales channel, grade, size and pack. Importers should also raise sample, artwork and destination-document requirements early. An indicative programme becomes useful when the receiving date and the product specification are clear.

Ask our team which items can be discussed for the coming crop and which require a later batch review. Forecasts and a confirmed order are different commitments.

02

During harvest: follow the fruit

Jordan’s Ministry of Agriculture identifies 30 September as the national date-harvest day. That is a seasonal reference, rather than a release date for every farm block or product.

Our fruit is handpicked, then selected and packed. Rutab is the very soft ripening-stage option in our Jordan shop. Its seasonal supply should be checked directly; it should not be treated as interchangeable with every fully ripened Medjool pack.

03

After picking: match the batch to the programme

Sorting separates the grade and size selections that buyers order. Packing and controlled storage then connect the harvested crop with local orders and export programmes. Fruit being in season does not mean every grade and pack is immediately available.

For a fixed launch, event or promotion, ask for the available batch, pack format, proposed dispatch date and storage instructions. Review the sample and specification again when changing grade, size or crop programme.
