A useful Germany enquiry starts with the retail specification and the importer’s compliance checklist. Jordanian origin and the word Medjool identify the fruit; they do not specify grade, size, packaging or the conditions of an import.

Define the product your customer will receive
Tell us whether you are buying for a German supermarket, specialist retailer, wholesaler or private label. Specify Premium, Delight or Classics separately from fruit size. A Jumbo date and a Premium grade describe different characteristics.
- Grade and fruit-size band, with an agreed sample or specification.
- Consumer-pack weight, carton configuration and indicative order quantity.
- Destination city, requested delivery window and intended sales channel.

Have the importer check the EU requirements
The European Commission’s Access2Markets portal is the starting point for product-specific import conditions, duties, origin rules and packaging requirements. Ask your importer or customs representative to check the exact product classification and Jordan-to-Germany route before agreeing a landed cost.
Prepare the proposed German-market label for the importer’s review before printing. Ask which product, origin, batch, date, storage and responsible-operator details are required for the exact format. A supplier’s food-safety certificate does not replace that review.

Agree the journey as well as the fruit
Include the delivery point and the responsibilities you want quoted. Ask for the proposed storage and transport conditions, carton and pallet information, and remaining shelf life on arrival. Compare quotations on the same scope rather than comparing a farm-release price with a delivered price.
